Do you want this Year to be the same as last Year
If you want this year to be the same as last year then don’t change anything in your life. If everything was just right in your life last year and nothing else changed, that tells me that you can live the way you were living for the rest of your life. Make sure you are honest with yourself.
I hear so many people who are listening to Preachers, Pastors or persons everyday. They buy thousands of dollars in books and tapes, go to seminars and yet still lose in every area of their life. They have not changed inside. The things that caused them not to change, are the very things they are afraid to address. Those are the deep rooted things in their heart. It’s the way they were raised.
Some people were raised with a poverty spirit. If there is a poverty spirit in someone, they will work and get rich, but they will get rich out of poverty. They despise it. Without changing the poverty spirit, it will follow them from generation to generation. They have the wrong motive inside themselves. It is no different than giving for the wrong reason or going out of your way for someone for the wrong reason.
A lot of people do not want to hear the truth. Weak watered down people will not hear the truth. The Truth is, God came so you might have life and have it more abundantly. He does not want you to have trial and error.
I teach this all the time; if God will do it for Sammy, then he will do it for anyone. The trouble with people is, they do not have the discipline in their life. It is not the things you are doing, it is the things you are not doing.
People cannot complain about what they permit in their life. If they are lazy, they are lazy. Recognize it and change it.
4 Delight yourself also in the LORD, And He shall give you the desires of your heart. Psalms 37:4
Spend time in the Word and God Him self will give you your true hearts desires. He created you. He knows exactly what you need. He knows the abundant life you are supposed to have. He’s a good God. He cares for you and He wants to bring to pass every one of your hearts desires.
Put a new discipline in your life. James 1:5-8
If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him. 6 But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea driven and tossed by the wind. 7 For let not that man suppose that he will receive anything from the Lord; 8 he is a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways.
When you don’t have wisdom, what do you have? You have confusion. How do you ask in faith? You ask in confidence knowing that you are going to be compensated. If there is doubt, then you have a question of confidence towards God. You need to spend more time in the Word so you can hear from God. God is sure footed and His Word is sure footed.
Some people believe God allows them to go through destruction in their life in order to teach them a lesson. That is a bunch of bunk! God provides all the wisdom you will ever need. You just need to seek His Word. God always warns us before something happens. He may tell us not to cross the street at a certain time. Or take a different route work, all to avoid the danger and pitfalls that lay ahead, but we are not always listening to the voice of the Lord. This is why people don’t grow.
Let me teach you something about delayed obedience. Delayed obedience is disobedience. If a prophet of God comes up to you and says they need to tell you something and you tell the prophet, “Wait a minute”, that's delayed obedience. I guarantee the Holy Spirit gets grieved and you don’t get your Word. Guess what follows? When you say, “Wait a minute” to God, you are sowing a seed. So don’t complain if your children, your spouse, or people around you say, “Wait a minute” to you when you ask them to do something for you.
Listen and learn how the law of God works. It’s simple. God wants you to be diligent, quick to listen and quick to do exactly what He tells you to do NOW. That is what diligence means. Not when you get around to it.
"While the earth remains, Seed time and harvest, Cold and heat, Winter and summer, And day and night Shall not cease." Genesis 8:22
If you walk breath to breath with God, you will walk in confidence. God spoke to me one day and asked me, “Why do you think people are the way they are?” I thought about it. I know what the Word says and I could have immediately blurted out what I thought the answer was, but that would have been my ego just getting in the way. (Ego is Edging God Out). So, I sat there and I asked the Lord to tell me why. He said, “Because they have not been trained in the admonition of the Lord when they were a child.” God’s says train up our children in the admonition of the Lord. That means instruction. It’s more than just teaching.
Teaching someone is one thing, but training someone is totally different. You have to do something to train them. You have to continually program them. You are helping them, you are showing them, you are reprogramming them and changing their habits. He said, “If they are trained in the admonition of the Lord, they would never leave it.”
Now I had a question for the Lord and I asked Him, “What about the people who were trained up as a child in the admonition of the Lord and were rooted and grounded and loved the Lord and had signs and wonders following them? What happens to the ones that have fallen off?” He said it was because they started associating with people who weren’t trained in the admonition of the Lord. You become like who you associate with. I don’t care if you are a super-Christian. The water always takes the least path of resistance.
For example, someone is strong in the Lord and they are marching forward. They have an attitude that nothing is going to stop them. All of a sudden, they get hooked up with a person or people who are weak, watered down and double minded. They start drinking a little bit here, looking at the wrong magazines, etc. The whole course of nature is set in the negative and that means they are going to get a whole bunch of negative help. The next thing you know, they become just like the people who they are associating with. The Bible says to be careful for whom you associate with. Bad company will corrupt good morals. What is bad company? Does a person have to be a thief or a murder to be bad company? No, they could be a good person, but they don’t follow the Word.
Do not be deceived: "Evil company corrupts good habits. 1 Corinthians 15:33
If you don’t want this year to be the same as last year, then you have to do something today so tomorrow won’t be like today. The secret to your future is hidden in your daily routine.
God wants you to be diligent, quick to listen and quick to do exactly what He tells you to do NOW.
